[She leans into his arms, cuddling and taking comfort in them.]
Three days ago.
[Having a couple weeks was good to know. That meant maybe she could pick someone, and just take that time to get to know them. Maybe it would be best to keep to the people she had already met here.]
How'd did you find someone, Equius? I know everyone here is in the same boat but I still don't know how you can really, I don't know, bring that question up. Or get something like that started.
[He considers that question, his cheeks flushing a little]
My dancestor was kind enough to make an offer of assistance. Actually... it's not that difficult. [Oh gosh, this is such a forward conversation, but for Nepeta's sake...] I'm surprised that you're so worried. You never seem to have a problem saying what's on your mind.
But this is very diffurent furom just stating an opinion or talking about something. This is asking something very important of someone.
[She pulled her legs up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them, looking at Equius]
Pailing is supposed to be something romantic. Even if it's not necessarily with a concupiscent pawrtner, it should still mean more than 'I have to to avoid being hurt'. I thought that was one good thing we escaped furom on Alternia, now look where we are.
[Equius sits up and watches her. There's a vague impulse to reach out, but he's not really sure of what to do, so he doesn't. He just doesn't like that she's pulling away, and he doesn't know how to offer comfort, either. That's usually what she's so good at.]
I can't say that I've found any romance, here. [He admits this, frowning. That hasn't bothered him in the least, to be honest, though saying it aloud there is a bit of a pang in his blood pusher.] But the things I have done have been...enjoyable. I'm sure you'll find the same thing. You have an overly STRONG attachment to such romantic notions, and always have.
[The smile returned a teeny bit.] Yea. I guess I have.
[And it was hard to really let go of them but Nepeta realized in this case her stubbornness would just make things worse. Not just for her, but all those concerned for her well being.
Perhaps she could just spend time with one of the humans she had talked to recently. Rise was nice, or maybe Shiemi. If only there were more people who she had known for an extended period of time, but the only ones who really fell into that category were Rose and Equius himself. She liked Rose a lot, and definitely found her pretty but given that they still had only had a small collection of conversations she wasn't certain she could take that step. At least not yet.
Then there was Equius. It was strange how it hadn't occurred to her sooner, considering there was no one she cared for or trusted more than Equius. Perhaps it simply was because they were moirails--conciliatory partners, not concupiscent. Yet now that the thought had occurred to her, it wasn't going away. Should she ask him? Would that be weird? Would it put a strain on their moirallegiance? Nepeta liked to think not. The question now was how to go about it. Equius had said Horuss had simply offered so perhaps she should just ask?]
[Equius has also never thought such things about his moirail, always focused on protecting her. However, he has entertained more than one about her ancestor, and with the chip in his think pan, it's difficult to ignore the quiet suggestions.
He looks at her, unsuspecting of what's on her mind]
As in maybe we could. You know. Pail I know moirails aren't really supposed to do that, but you're the only person I trust or am comfortable enough with.
Of course. [He doesn't hesitate. The things he's done already...they're depraved. This is positively pure by comparison - helping his moirail. What could be better for him to do?
Awkwardly, he reaches up and touches her hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze] You must tell me how you want me to do this...
[She is surprised by how certain he sounds, surprised, but glad and a bit of tension leaves her shoulders. She is also grateful from his seeming readiness to be patient. Nepeta ponders his comment, uncertain of how she wanted to go about this. ]
I will
[Nothing came to mind for now. In truth she thought it best not to overthink things and just act. Overthinking things was always what had made her so tongue-tied and hesitant when it came to approaching Karkat, and she felt it would be no different in this situation. The young troll laced her fingers with Equius' and scooted closer, nuzzling his cheek before pressing a kiss to it]
[There's an inkling in his mind that it's important that he not be selfish, this time. It's Nepeta's first time. He knows how important it was for his own time that Horuss be kind and generous with him. Now it's his turn.
He shifts closer and lifts his hand, cupping her cheek, then running his fingers into her hair. His thumb rubs up one thick, pointed horn]
[It's nice, just being close. Simple affection was something Nepeta had always enjoyed giving, even if she usually only directed it to Equius or in some cases Terezi. To have it be returned like this was new, and very nice.
Yet she hadn't been expecting just how nice, and when Equius' thumb brushes against one of her horns she makes a small noise of surprise. She unconsciously leans into his hand, her nuzzling stilling for a moment.]
[She shifts so she can settle properly on his lap, legs wrapping a little around his waist. It was quite a strange sensation to describe. Sure, Nepeta may or may not have read a fanfic or two in which some horn fondling might have occurred. The strange, pleasant hum so often described in them filled her body now, but it was one thing to read about it. Another thing entirely to experience it for herself.]
It's very good. [Her voice is quiet, almost as if he's afraid that speaking to loudly will ruin the moment. Her eyes open and she takes the moment to look at her moirail. Her grey eyes, speckled with bits of green looked into his and she gave him another bump on the nose before gently pressing her lips to his]
[It's so odd to do this. It's not that she's not attractive to him. But there's something different about this.
Suddenly, it occurs to him that, this time, he's actually with someone he pities. Every other person he's been with has been a friend, an enemy, or someone he really couldn't care less about. He truly doesn't want her to be hurt, at all, in his hands.
He leans into the kiss, and when she pulls back, he shifts his hand to the back of her neck.]
[She counts herself lucky that she has Equius here with her. She's not certain she would have been able to go through with something like this with someone she was close to.
Nepeta places one last kiss to the corner of his mouth before doing as directed, bowing her hair and allowing dark tendrils to obscure her face. Meanwhile she takes the moment to start exploring him, running her hands down his chest slowly, as if she's trying to commit every muscle and contour to memory by touch. She traces his sign lightly with her fingers, before continuing on.]
[Equius is just happy to have her, here, and even more happy to be able to help her in some way. He always wanted to do that, to protect her, but he sometimes worried that he was heavy-handed and awkward in the way he did it.
He shivers a little at the touch of her hands, but leans closer and mouths over one of her thick, short horns, swirling his tongue over the hard keratin.]
[Her grip on Equius' shirt tightened, bunching up the material. She drew in a shuddering breath, surprised by how different this feels from any sensation she has experienced before. How good.
Green suffused her cheeks and she could feel a warmth building between her legs.]
[Equius closes his eyes, glad to hear her reacting with pleasure to what he's doing. He suckles a little harder, licking around the horn right at the scalp.
[By the time he pulls away Nepeta's head is buzzing and she's all a flustered. She had never expected to be drawn into what they were doing this much, but now even her usual shyness was beginning to ebb away.
At Equius' encouragement the olive troll lifted her head to smile at him, before ducking it once more, this time to press more kisses against his neck, brushing her fangs against his skin.
Her hands dropped to the hem of his shirt]
Can I..? [The question is murmured against his skin. He may have already given her free reign, but she still wants to be certain and only idly tugged it upwards.]
Yes, you may. [The permission is given softly, in a fervent tone, but he hasn't lost his dignity at least. He even has the presence of mind for a grammar lesson. He turns his head to lip at her earlobe, then licks gently up the shell of her ear to the tip]

I don't want to see that happen to you. When did you arrive, exactly? You should have a couple of weeks from your arrival to comply.
